A game where you play as a flying penguin who defeats villains by pooping on them.
A short origin story: My partner Matt and I were both interested in making games—I wanted to experience both the conceptual side of designing for this abstract idea of “fun” and the technical side of actually creating a responsive, visually attractive game. Since we had never done anything remotely close to game-making before, we decided to build up our coding and pixel art skills with a simple infinite scroller game. Thus, Porta Penguin was born—a tongue-in-cheek game about a flying penguin who fights villains with a very interesting weapon 💩.
It was a lot of fun learning how to make pixel art and building a complete game. Even though the concept of Porta Penguin is rather silly, it was a great introduction to the world of game development.
